Who doesn’t love tassel? It is such a unique piece of art that has been quite a trend. Also, who can hate boho vibe? When boho meets tassel, a piece of handmade can be so gorgeous. Here is a tutorial on how to make boho tassel necklace with a couple of green beads. This project is simple and can be done by anyone. Listed before the steps is the supplies you need to prepare for this project.
Supplies
- 2 kinds of ribbon, in vanilla white hand stitched silk and in vanilla white hand stitched silk fairy
- Gemstone beads of chrysoprase nugget (10 – 25 mm)
- Gemstone beads of chrysoprase round (5mm)
- Pewter bead, 7mm
- Pewter cap, 17mm
- Lobster clasp
- Silver plated aluminum flat curb chain (7mm and 36 inches)
- Jump rings (6mm)
- Round nose pliers
- Bent nose pliers
- Chain nose pliers
- Wire cutters
Step 1. Grab your silk ribbon and cut it to double the tassel’s length.
Step 2. Cut wire to 8 inches.
Step 3. Bend the wire at about 2 inches.
Step 4. Take your ribbons and find the ribbon’s middle. It is ok not to have all the ribbons at the same length as you can fix it later.
Step 5. Insert the wire through the middle of the ribbons. Make sure that the wire is really at the ribbons’ middle point.
Step 6. Cross and make a twist of the wires. When doing this step, you need to make sure that the wire is really holding all the ribbons very tightly. Otherwise, it will not come loose.
Step 7. Get the short end of the wire and wrap it around for a couple of times. Don’t worry. It will be hidden.
Step 8. Trim off the excess wire. Ensure that the wire’s end does not poke out.
Step 9. Take your bead cap and thread it onto the wire. Thread the cap over the ribbon’s top. Make sure the wire wraps are covered.
Step 10. Take three pieces of chrysoprase nugget gemstone beads and the pewter one and thread them onto the wire. You can try using different kind of gemstone beads if you prefer different kind of looks on your necklace.
Step 11. Now take your round nose pliers and use it to hold the wire.
Step 12. Wrap the wire around the pliers to make a loop.
Step 13. One more time, wrap the wire while you are pulling the tassel out. Pull the tassel straight so you can straighten the loop.
Step 14. Wrap the wire for a couple of times. Make sure the wraps are neat and tight.
Step 15. Trim any excess wire off using chain nose pliers.
Step 16. Open four jump rings using chain nose pliers and bent nose pliers.
Step 17. Cut your chain to your desired length.
Step 18. Attach the tassel with the jump ring.
Step 19. Trim any excess ribbon off. Make sure all ribbons are at the same length. Your necklace is done!
