Do you happen to have lots of incredible artisan beads but you don’t know how to deal with them? This tutorial will help you to be creative with your art beads. You can change them into some beautiful jewelry that you can always wear anytime. You can use the art beads as the pendants for your necklace, rings, bracelets or earring. Here, some ideas are also provided to create wonderful beaded necklaces. First thing that you need to master before making the necklace is to learn how to make the pendant from beads.

Step 1. Before making the pendant, you have to collect the supplies for the project. Actually if you have already got various art beads, you can choose one bigger bead to be your pendant. This tutorial presents the simplest way of making a pendant.

Supplies for this project:

  • Round nose pliers
  • Sterling silver bail
  • Sterling silver headpin
  • Sterling silver round balls sized 2 – 5mm
  • Lampwork focal bead

Step 2. Take the bead and the silver headpin. Insert the headpin into the bead’s hole. Then, string one silver round ball to the headpin from the top.

Step 3. Then, take one lampwork focal bead and insert this bead into the headpin from the top side. After the lampwork focal bead is nicely placed, take one more silver round ball and insert it into the headpin.

Step 4. Tighten the beads attached into the headpin and make a small loop from the loose part of the headpin. Make sure that the loop is close enough from the upper bead. Then, after the loop is formed, cu the excess wire of the headpin and insert the silver bail into the loop. Tighten the opening of the loop with the pliers to close it down.

Step 5. Now, you can take your best-loved chain to be inserted trough the silver bail. You can make any necessary adjustments on the length of the chain.

Step 6. If you want to use string of beads as your necklace chain, you can make it first. Choose small beads which have the same dominant color as the color of your beaded pendant. After you get the beads, start stringing the beads into the wire. Don’t forget to create a loop at each wire end to insert the lobster clasp. After the beaded string is ready, you can directly slide the string into the silver bail and your unique necklace is ready to be shown off!
